I have a 1912 Remington 22 pump rifle (one of the first with the round barrel). The firing chamber (breech) is chipped from dry firing. If I shoot it, most of the bullets blow out the side of rim at the primer where the firing pin hits it. Can a short sleeve be inserted in the breech to return it to where it is safe to shoot? How much will it cost and who can do the work?
The rifle also need some repair to the forestock. The screw holes have been messed up and need to be retapped.
The magazine guide tube is flared and needs to be replaced.
I inherited this gun from my father and would like to repair the rifle back to a safe firing condition. I prefer to retain the original barrel.
This is the first rifle I ever shot and does have some sentimental value.
