pre 1866

:roll: i have a pistol that has tns on it ut has ilion ny also pat. may 3 1864 and pat april 17 1866 does anybody know what it is thanks ed

That's a little light on details, but I suspect it is a Rolling Block.

Caliber, Barrel Length,rimfire or centerfire, any other markings at all?

Is the grip smooth all the way up to the hammer or does it go back out on top
before it.

:? the gun is heavy it is either a 22 or a 25 it has 2 different colors in the barrel looks blue on outside then looking directly at the barrel it has a greyish color very thick barrel with small hole it has 2 things that move near the chamber one piece that graps the shell to pull it out and the hammer barrel is round has april 1864 dec 1865 may 1866 as pat dates thats more id cant read much on the barrel its worn thanks ed

Should have a half octagon/half round barrel. Sounds like a Target Rolling block. A quick
identifier would be If it has checkered grips and forend it's a 1901 otherwise it's a 1891.

But none of this comes with a guarantee without seeing at least a picture.
