Howdy, new to this forum, but have a life long love of Remington shotguns 870, 11-48, 1100. My question is how big a screw up is opening a model 31 barrel. My new to me 20ga is full choked, and my plan is to have it opened up to light modified for doves.
Thanks Tom

Re: Model 31 20ga barrel question
Full choke seems to be far and away the most common choke found on Model 31s, so opening one up certainly wouldn't hurt my feelings. I find modified, improved cylinder and SKEET more useful to me. Don't have such an issue with my 20-gauge Model 31 as someone long ago put a Cutts Compensator on it!!

Thanks, I thought that might be the case. Just didn't want to alter something I would later regret.

Why not install choke tubes ? The best of all worlds.
What could have happened... did.
