compression ring

Post by mates64 »

Hello gentleman I have a Remington that I inherited model 11 ,12 gauge shotgun with ser#355349 ,right side of barrel has REP marking left side FULL,safety is within trigger cover assembly.
I decided to disassemble for inspection and cleaning and I found that the compression ring was missing ,only have the friction ring.Did this particular model had a compression ring and if they did can one of you gentlemen recommend a place were I can pick up one. Also will it fire without it.
Really appreciate the opinions and help
thanks

For light loads one generally doesn't use the ring identified as "C" in Figure 5 --
