WW1 Remignton Model 11

Post by CamillusKnife96 »

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows what markings/stamps to expect on a US WW1 or military guard Remington Model 11? I have read that the Model 11 was used in WW1 due to the shortage of Winchester 1897's and Remington Model 10s but I have not been able to find pictures or large quantities of information on them (only the military finish WW2 models pop up). In addition, I have read they were popular with military guard usage in this era and I was wondering if there would be any stamps or marking to distinguish these from a typical consumer bought firearm? Thank you very much for your time and help!

Thanks,

A WWI Model 10 is here
https://www.rockislandauction.com/detai ... ot-shotgun
and the auction listing includes pages from "Complete Guide to United States Military Combat Shotguns" by Bruce Canfield with an image of the "flaming bomb" and "US" ordnance marks
