Model 1100 - 1187 - 870 sear springs

Post by dhenzler »

I found the spring design I wanted, and had several hundred manufactured. I am selling these to shooters that want a 2lb trigger pull in their Remington Shotgun or Rifle. Yes these are interchangeable with many of the Remington firearms sharing the same basic trigger group design.

Please check out my website http://springs.ccskeet.com for details and how to order.

These are not cut down springs and will not "Jump Off" as some writers have said they fear. These are tested in the field, and I have sold nearly 100 of them thus far. No complaints and no returns.

Regards

Remington sells a heavy duty one (7-8 pounds), and a Sporting one, and a Competition one (3 pounds), all for the 870. They will fit an 1100 and 11-87, but there is concern a lighter spring may be jarred off by the semi auto action.
F91771 870 SEAR SPRING COMPETITION TRAP 3 LB $5.15
F97642 870 SEAR SPRING HEAVY 7 TO 8 LBS $5.15
F97579 870 SEAR SPRING MARINE MAG $4.12
F91771 870 SEAR SPRING YELLOW SPTG CLAY $5.15
I put a competition one in my 1100 and it did not jar off, but I didn't feel it helped me much so I removed it.
What could have happened... did.

I had the same exact feeling... no real improvement with the competition trap spring. However the two lighter springs that come with the Timney sear kit work nicely...

The dimensions I put up are the light spring. I have a "Fleet" of 1100 series guns and want to put light springs in all of the skeet guns.

Here's a couple photos that may help show what I am looking for...
Comes with Red (4lb), White (3lb) and Blue (2lb) sear spring in order to obtain the perfect pull weight for your particular application. Trigger Spring Kit is constructed of the highest quality spring steel available, ASTM A228 music wire and is made right here in the USA. (also works on the Remington 1100, 7400, 7600, 742 Semi-Auto, 762, 74 series, 750, and 878 long guns" White spring shown...
Original spring has 9 coils and is longer. Will try cutting to .605" and test results. Will report !

If you're reading this... you have probably done the same thing I did... and been unhappy with the results. I have tried every spring offered by major suppliers Midw- MG- Brown- and on and on. Every one says they have a light pull spring. Most are only a pound or two lighter than the HEAVY 7lb factory spring. When they have 9 coils and the wire size is about the same... what can you expect.

A major trigger manufacturer sells a kit to replace sear & spring. But very costly if you have many to do. I had 11 shotguns to fix up. I wanted them to be the same.

Read about my solution at http://springs.ccskeet.com I guarantee you will be glad that you took the time to look.

The Remington competition spring that I purchased did yield a 3 pound 2 ounce trigger pull when combined with a standard sear set up. What I meant was that I found it did not have a noticeable positive effect on my shooting.

How long ago did you buy the spring? Was it yellow? I tried many, all saying they were light pull... none of them was less than 5. Hmmm.

Well my springs work great. I have installed a dozen and every one is the same nice light 3 lb pull.

The best part of my offering is the price includes shipping. Of the places I purchased springs in my quest... I paid no less than $3.99 shipping for each order.

Go figure...

Over 260 springs sold, and not one complaint, or request for refund. I've had another batch made up... order now.
