I have serial 24,XXX that was ugly enough that I doubt it was refinished. The inside of the receiver is not blued except just around the edges for maybe 1/4" inside the edge, as if it was swabbed with solution, not immersed. Any other examples like this?
If one planned to cold blue I dont know why they would have so thoroughly stripped the inside of the receiver. The current finish doesnt look streaky and splotchy like many cold blue jobs. And it certainly was never polished. It has the not-so-shiny metal finish like the police guns.
