Model 11 fiber washer ?

I've owned a couple of M-11s but never knew about the fiber recoil washer in the receiver before. I also had at one time copied from the net how to adjust the gun for different strength shells. I can't find it or where I had copied it from. Can someone help me with the information on how to take the bolt out of the receiver, look for the fiber washer, and how to move the washers around on the recoil spring under the forearm. Thanks for any help. Paul

Here is the diagram from an early Remington Autoloading Shotgun (Pre Model 11).

You can also easily check the buffer without taking out the bolt.

Just remove the trigger assembly and you should have a good view.
