Just bought this beauty and it's not really old, so has nice bluing. Model 11 serial 1,056,804. It's got a Poly Choke Ugh! and I'm thinking about removing it and having Carlson's install a screw in choke system. I shoot skeet mostly so would get a cyl, skeet, & imp-cyl chokes.
Pictures include a shot of the choke... think it's an after market unit right?
Comments welcome... I'm excited to have found this beauty.

Does look well cared for. Nice find.
If it were me, I'd consider a different barrel equipped with RemChoke and a vent rib.

The gun is a "Sportsman" the three-shot version of the 5-shot Model 11.
The receiver with serial number 1056804 was put in work during December 1939. The barrel date code LJ is L = February, J = 1940. What is that thing on the end of that nice solid rib full choke barrel? That is something far beyond a Poly-Choke. I know I've seen it before, but can't come up with what it is right now. By 1940, Remington Arms Co., Inc. was offering a Poly Choke from the factory, but it was only available on a plain barrel and Remington milled them integral with the barrel --
Looks to my eyes like the gun was buffed and reblued at some point in the past.

If you could pick up a 20-gauge Cutts Compensator with a spreader tube off ebay and have it replace that thing that is on the barrel, you would have a great looking vintage skeet gun. A real Robert Stack memorial skeet gun --

I thumbed through some old Gun Digests this evening and found the Adjustomatic Choke by the Hartford Gun Choke Co. It appeared in the 1959 through 1970 issues.

I've looked for a better description of that choke... you found it! Outstanding.
Well I couldn't stand the dirt and muck in the action... finally decided to spend the time and solvent and get it cleaned up. So disassembly was yesterday... reassembled today... just in time to shoot a round of skeet with the guys. It was not without some differences.
The cartridges didn't stay up in the magazine tube. They only would stay up on the third shell... This doesn't resonate with my previous experiences...
