There was a discussion on another site and the question came up about forearm irons on extractor guns. We found plenty of examples of Model 1900 extractor forearm irons --
The extractor Model 1894s we could come up with all used empty ejector forearm irons --
Any of you have or know of an extractor Model 1894 with a purpose built extractor forearm iron? I seem to recall seeing a C-Grade at Las Vegas several years ago with one, but I have no pictures or documentation.

Re: Remington Hammerless Double Forearm Irons
All three of my 1894 extractor guns have ejector forearm irons. A quick look on Gunbroker found five extractor 1894s and they also had the ejector irons. Based on this relatively small sample, I'd say if purpose built extractor forearm irons were made they aren't the norm.
But I'll keep looking and let you know if I see one.

Re: Remington Hammerless Double Forearm Irons
All of my '94s have ejectors so no help there. However, in the 1902 catalog copies sent to me by Art McKee several years ago all appear to show drawings of ejector type irons - no mention or showing of extractor type in the spare parts section.
Do we have an estimate of percentage of guns equipped with ejectors versus extractors?

Re: Remington Hammerless Double Forearm Irons
I'd say it is high as from 1897 onward ejectors on Remington hammerless doubles were only $5 extra, where as Parker Bros., once they finally began offering ejectors in 1901, wanted $25 extra for them. Hunter Arms Co. was charging $25 extra for ejectors on their L.C. Smiths in that era. Tobin Arms Manufacturing Co. was asking $20 extra for ejectors. A.H. Fox Gun Co. was charging $15 extra for their early style ejectors, but when the new style came out in 1911 they dropped to $12. Lefever Arms Co. was charging $15 extra for ejectors in the era.Do we have an estimate of percentage of guns equipped with ejectors versus extractors?
I have seven Remington Hammerless Doubles and they all have ejectors.
