Wingmaster Barrel Number

Post by avery53 »

Hi, I'm looking at an 870 Wingmaster with the date code of DI, 1976. To the right of the date code is 79, is this supposed to be the date of the barrel, or just an assembly number? DI and 79 don't jive. :)

Thanks for any help

JFYI, got the answer on Shotgun World, it is an assembly number.

Thanks

That's correct. Did you happen to check this link first?
It's also explained there and has been discussed numerous times on this forum.
