I have a 870 Wingmaster 16 ga. with barrel date code of "XWW". This puts manufacturing in December 1950 if I'm reading the chart correctly. The serial numbers on the barrel and action are 689XXW - the x's are numbers. In addition, after some more research it appears to be a "Deluxe" model.
I have a question regarding the serial number. I can't find reference to the serial number and how many were manufactured - was the 1st gun "1"?
Any help or comments would be great......thanks.

Edit: gun also has a Cutts Compensator that I believe was installed very early on.
