1885 BARREL REMOVAL

Post by dvldawg68 »

I have a 1885/87 10 gauge , Would like to know how to remove the barrels from the receiver ? I tried after removing forearm by pushing the top lever both ways but can not get the barrels to separate from the receiver ? Please Help !!

When removing Remington barrels on some of my guns I have to push the top lever hard to the right and sometimes you have to move the barrels back and forth when it's part way open after it's been all the way open, or down. . What I'm trying to say is, when the forearm is off, the top lever all the way to the right [ hard ], and the barrel rotated all the way open, close it back up half way and push the barrels back and forth and then all the way open. There's a part between the barrel lugs I believe has to be in the correct position before the barrel will come off. I'm sure someone will straighten me out. That same part must be flush when putting them back on.
