Looks like 1926. Second link will tell you which month from the barrel date code.

Hi all. I know this is an older post but I'm brand new here. I have my dad's old Model 12C. In visiting different websites I'm getting conflicting information...either that, or I don't know what I'm looking at. Going by the stamped letters on the left side of the barrel near the receiver I'm getting October 1929 (EX). At another site the actual serial number on the bottom of the receiver (621420) places it at 1924. Which one is correct? Thanks in advance.

I would believe 1924 to be the correct manufacture date
based on the date chart offered by Remington Society of America.

Go with the EX. I record info on 14s, 141s, 30s, and 25s, and Remington did not build in serial order. I have seen a 1914 serial to be built eleven years later. its like they grabbed a serial receiver out of a Cracker Barrel at random and built the rifle....tom
