Remington speedmaster 552 date code

Hello, I recently came into possession of a Remington Speedmaster 552 that has what appears to be a date code of JPR but I can't seem to find any info on it. I may be looking at it wrong, any assistance would be wonderful.

The letter "J" is not a valid month date code, so the valid "date code" should be "P R".......June 1968.
