Non lead bullets for 35 Rem 141 ?

Post by Jim585 »

Is anyone hunting with Non lead bullets in their 35 Rem 141 ?
Any bullet suggestions for reloading?
Thank you, Jim

Unless you are looking to have feed/jam problems with your 141 I would suggest you stick to what was designed for the rifle which is basically factory RN ammunition. Ballistic tip, RNFP, cast, spire point, and anything else will eventually mess up your rifle. I keep repeating this but there is always a new audience that likes to apply 2019 technology to a rifle designed in 1910, good luck with that.

Use RN bullets only, discard brass after 3-4 firings, set your dies using factory rounds, and always use a factory crimp die.

That's gospel, but do whatever you think best!

Thanks Jim, that is what I thought you would say. Always good advice. Just wondering about the future if they mandate non lead ammo? Perhaps then it will be best to use a different firearm. Until then, I will enjoy my 141. -Jim
