Bolt question on a Sportmaster 341

Post by DadzSportmaster »

I inherited my Dad's Model 341, 22LR rifle. I just started shooting it and have only put a couple hundred round through it. It works well although it has not been shot for more than 50 years. I have cleaned it as much as I can and would like to clean the innards of the bolt if that is practical. The manual (downloaded from Remington) says to soak it in gasoline and then dry it out real good. I see some pins that could be driven out but I hesitate to do that without some good guidance on what to touch, what to not touch and step by step info on what to do and how far to go.

I want to shoot it for many years in memory of my father and eventually hand it down to my son and grandson so they can enjoy it. I don't want to break anything by doing something that I really don't have to do like take it apart too much.
Regards,
