my first remington 700 trying to get some info
I bought a Remington 700 adl in 30 06 at a pawnshop first time to buy a gun and am wanting to get some info on it. I'm just wanting to know what year it was made but can't figure out going off the charts that on here. On the same side as the bolt where the barrel connects to the action I get a capatil n with a triangle around it rep with an oval shape around it then the letter b and another mark I can't make out. on the other side from left to right there is a 9 ex and 2 other marks looks like po then the the action number 66xxxxx thanks for any help in advance and sorry if I'm posting in wrong forum.

Beyond that, that's about all I can tell you from the information you've posted. The stampings on the right side of the barrel are pretty much standard stuff. It's the ones on the left side which give the date code.

The date code of "E X" tells me that it was made in October of 1973. The serial number (which your referred to as the "action number") helps confirm that it was built in the early 1970s.dekota wrote:I bought a Remington 700 adl in 30 06 at a pawnshop first time to buy a gun and am wanting to get some info on it. Re: my first remington 700 trying to get some info
I have a Remington 700 SS BDL Deluxe DM in a .280 caliber. The gun was purchased in 1997 new. It’s my primary deer rifle. I’m wondering if anyone can tell me the approximate worth of this rifle? I can’t seem to find anything on the DELUXE model
Re: my first remington 700 trying to get some info
Nope! Without being able to inspect it, there's no way of coming up with a ballpark figure. Wear and tear, dings and dents and bluing wear can depreciate them substantially. (Yes, I know yours is SS, but I was speaking generally.)
But, having a local gunsmith or gun shop look at it and giving you an estimate......that's about as close as you will probably get.
Also depends on why you're curious. Someone's primary deer rifle should have alot of sentimental value to even think about parting with it.
I know I've got too many sentimental favorites to consider parting with, so I just keep them and will let my next of kin worry about it.

Re: my first remington 700 trying to get some info
I’m just trying to find a general worth of the rifle. I can find info on all the features of the rifle except the DELUXE feature. So it has me curious as to how rare or if even rare this rifle may be?
All the ones I can find info do not have all the features of my rifle. The rifle is in great shape! The ones I’ve seen are either wood stock but not stainless, stainless with the detachable mag but not a DELUXE model. This rifle has fancy engraving all around the bolt and top of the rifle.

I have no idea what you mean by the "Deluxe" feature. Most of the Remington 700s (and other models) used that word with most of their descriptions........"ADL" stood for "A Deluxe"........"BDL" stood for "B Deluxe (a few more enhancements)........"CDL" stood for "C Deluxe" (and a few more style differences).......etc., etc.Usmcex wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2020 5:22 am I’m just trying to find a general worth of the rifle.
