Remington-Keene - more info on BPC Forum

Post by b1acksmith »

I just bought a beautiful Remington-Keene and know very little about them except that I have wanted one. I can not find any information on them and need to know how to strip it, etc. Can anyone suggest a good reference book or site and maybe give me a step by step on stripping it down. Also, how do you tell the difference between a Navy, Army and Commercial.

Identifying models

Post by ehull »

The Army & Navy models have full forestocks and 2 barrel bands of "military" style, and both are in .45-70. The Army has a 32-1/2 in barrel, the Navy is 29-1/4 in. Anything else is commercial, in .45-70. .433 and .40 caliber.
