I have recently acquired a what I believe to be a Baby Saddle Ring Carbine in 44-40,
There is no manufacturer name or marks, there is a number 10 on the of the receiver and a number 10 under the barrel.
The trigger, band release and inside of the forend have a number 3, a line notch from the barrel to the receiver. Lines that match up with the part on the side and of course the saddle ring. This gun is in Great Shape tight, hammer, trigger good solid and functional, excellent bore, excellent screws and awesome wood.
I have had several firearm enthusiast give their opinion and they all agreed it is a Remington Baby Carbine in 44-40.
Would this be a early model with no name or model number?
Thank You!
Help Question
Re: Help Question
Go to the Rifles Post 1898 Forum and type baby carbine in the search box. There are five paged of threads about Baby Carbines some with pictures. You should be able to determine if yours is a Baby Carbine. As far as the lack of a manufacturers name that is anybody's guess.

Re: Help Question
Thanks for the info Billt
I have attached some photos, could the serial number possibly be 10?
Any help would be appreciated.
