Hi There,
I just acquired a "new" rolling block for my collection.
It is a typical "Spanish" model, type 4 action with
"E. Remington & Sons" tang markings.
The "nice" thing is there is still a fair amount of case
colors on the receiver! It also has an excellent bore!
The one thing that particularly tickles me is that the
groove diameter is correct (.4385"). My other "Spanish"
model has a .444" groove diameter. I bought a set of CH
dies for .43 Spanish but I didn't have a mold that would
produce the correct diameter bullets for a .444" bore (I
have the typical Lyman 439186 mold for this caliber).
The expanding die in my die set is for the .439" bullets
and would not work for for larger bullets anyway.
So, now I have a rifle that I can produce the correct cartridges
(Yippee).
Thanks for looking!

That's about as nice as I've ever seen! Amazing to see a military Rolling Block with that much finish!
