Remignton .32 rolling block rilfle octagonal barrel

Post by higgns »

I have a .32 remington rimfire rolling block rifle purchased many years after my Great Great uncle Martin O'Neill returned to Galesville, Wisconsin after the Civil War. The serial number on the octagonal barrel is
J205934. Can anyone date it.

Kind regards,

Hi 'higgins'
I see that you have'nt received any replies to you question re:- dates and numbers.
Don't despair. The lack of replies dosen't indicate a lack of interest. I have searched the places that I know of and can't find anything, there are probabley others that have done the same.
What size is your rifle? They were made with the larger frames (No.1)and the small (No.4) 'Boys rifle' size
Mine is a No. 4 with a 24" octagonal barrel and is number 135614. It is not a take down model so it seems it was made prior to 1900.

The lack of responce is most likely to be a lack of information and not a lack of interest. 8)
