Assistance on what military rolling block is this?

A friend of mine has acquired rolling block and what want help on identifying which military action it might be. Please take a look at the photos and give your opinion. Thanks! Majorfs

It was made in the Spanish National Armory at Oviedo in 1882.

Thank you, I will pass that on. Do you know what caliber they use mainly in them? Looked to be in the .43/.45 cal size.

They were originally in 11mm (.43) Spanish. If this is a rifle, there is probably an "R" stamped on top of the barrel in front of the receiver. This R is often poorly struck. It would be then reamed out to the 11mm (.43) Reformado cartridge. This cartridge has the same rim and base diameter as the 11mm Spanish. The shoulder area of the chamber is reamed out to take a more straight/tapered case rather than a bottle necked case.
