Model 10a

Post by General47 »

Have a model 10a serial number U 109544.
The barrel is 20” exactly and is bored for a front sight.
It came with a bayonet holder and is stamped US and bomb stamped.
The short barrel is not sloppy. Looks factory cut. The serial number falls previous of when the military lots were supposed to be issued.
The action is very crisp and smooth. Appears to be original metal finish.
Any ideas?
Will send a pic when I figure out how.

Any ideas about.......what?
Sounds like you've described it pretty well.

The question is———- Is it a 1913 serial number? Cant find any records.
The ones made for the military ranged from serial number 128,000 to 166,000
No mention of any others. They were issued with a 24” barrel and bayonet lug.
This one has a 20” barrel and a non issue date serial number of 109544.
It should not exist.
What am I missing.?
Thanks
