I recently picked up a Remington model 33 and trying to figure out the year madeImage

The rifle appears to have the date code, E C, which would mean May, 1934.

Oops! That should be Oct of 1934.

Thank you, you wouldn’t happen to know what the “u” means would you?

I don't know if the U has any special significance, by Remington used a U to mark some of the parts on Civil War rifles and muskets. Not all Rems have been marked with a U, so I'll just post this guess, and hope the real experts jump in and educate all of us.
