Nitro Club Shotshells with Ballistite Powder

Post by texomaman »

I have some loose 12 GA Remington-UMC Nitro Club shotgun shells that reference "Ballistite" smokeless shotgun powder. I have looked at a lot of Nitro Club shotshell boxes, but none appear to have been marked with Ballistite powder. I am trying to find the shotshell box that corresponds to my shells. If anyone has one of these boxes and could post a photo, I would be thankful. Alternatively, if anyone knows of specific literature with a picture of a Nitro Club shotshell box referencing Ballistite powder, I would appreciate that information. It would help me in my search if I had a better idea of what the shotsell box looks like.

I believe there is an empty box on eBay right now.

The Nitro Club designation was X then a charge number corresponding to a powder dram equivalent, then B for Ballistite, then shot size and type C for chilled.

Ie. X10B7C for Nitro Club, 3.5 drams, 7 shot Chilled
