stuck brass in 788

I was shooting some military 308 last weekend. after firing the brass seemed to stick in the chamber. The bolt would rotate but it was hard to move. I could not just pull the bolt back to eject the spent round and had to drop a cleaning rod down the barrel to knock the old brass loose. Could athis problem be because of the military loading? Looking for and and all assistance. Thanks, Semper Fi

Probably the mil spec ammo- try some Rem/Win/Fed 308 Win ammo- Military stuff is loaded to a higher pressure than commercial stuff. Be careful using force /hammering on the bolt handles on 788 and the 580 series- they are silver soldered and easy to break loose.
