1858 New Model

Post by Tom1858 »

I have a 1858 New Model sn 121723 the holster that came with it ,has the name
J. Cameron
A Co. 25th N.Y.V.C. It is very faint to see but it is there. John Cameron was captured and sent to Salisbury NC 1864 and died as a prisoner of war in December of 1864. I’m trying to find out if the gun was made in 1864 to see if it matches the holster. If anyone can help identify when the gun was made by the serial number I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Hi Tom,
According to the serial number list in Don Ware's book your revolver was manufactured in December of 1864.
