Early Serial Number New Model Army??

Post by civilwar55 »

i have a gun that has been in the family for years. it is .44 caliber and looks like the barrel is was cut off to 6.5" as there is no sight on the end. It reads serial number "4". does anybody have any information? it may also be remington beals from what i read. Any help would be appreciated.

Please take out the phone and snap a photo, roll down (past this box) to attachments and add files ;)

A photo is the place to start.

It looks like a New Model Army with the bbl cut down. The serial is under the left grip panel at the bottom of the frame, on the bottom flat of the bbl, and also found on the tab of the trigger guard.
