Engraved revolvers with etched cylinders

Post by aardq »

Have come across a few engraved large, and medium revolvers with etched cylinders, and wonder why etched and not engraved? Any one have any info on these oddities?
Thanks,
Dan

So ar I've found 4 versions of the same, basic scene.
1) The first variation has two riders, with guns. facing each other
2) The second variation has a dog with each rider in the scene.
3) The third variation has the riders going in the same direction.
4) The fourth variation has two men standing, facing each other.

Pic of the scene with a dog. The rider has fired his pistol and the puff of smoke can be seen.
