I recently acquired an 1858 Remington new model army revolver with serial number 102084 its been verified as the real deal but was wondering if anyone could find any additional information on it as I have absolutely none
serial numbers match on barrel, brass trigger guard and on grip frame also last four digits written on inside of the grips.D/R stamped on barrel cylinder is marked R. Frame is marked with an R on the right side and an H on left beside the hammer. Need anything else just let me know I appreciate it
The only thing that I can add is that the cartouoche on the grip, OWA, is for principle sub-inspector, O.W. Ainsworth. The other letters are just other sub-inspectors' marks indicating that part passed inspection. Enjoy the pistol.
