I have a very nice rear half of a Model 1885 remington shotgun but am missing the barrels and the right side hammer. The hammer currently on the gun isn't correct. I'm told it was a 10 gauge but 12 gauge barrels would probably fit.(Does anyone know for sure if 10 and 12 ga barrels interchange?) The wood on this gun is ecceptional including the forearm and may be an upgraded #2 wood. There are no cracks, splits, dings or dents or fill marks and the checkering looks great. The metal however...has no engraving and is plain but nice. The serial # is 18781 dating it to around 1885 or 1886. Any help in finding decent barrels and the right hammer would be very much appreciated.
