Could anyone give me information on HOW to tell which VERSION (see below) a 700 BDL is when looking at it? I believe all are 700 BDL versions with heavy varmint barrels. Is there a way to tell which is which? I think the first one has the pressed "checkering", any other differences one can...

Does the forearm have "diamond shaped" style checkering with finger grooves? Is there a "duck" on the pistol grip cap? If so, it could be original but an ADL model. Barrel has been changed of course. Im looking for info on how to tell and ADL from a BDL in another question here. ...

No idea on the patent dates stamped but your barrel code, left side near reciever will give you a month and year it was made. If that helps? Below is the link to go to the page to show them.

How do I recognize DUPONT era 870's?

I see Dupont mfg on some 870s listed for sale and know it was AROUND 1993 or 4? that they sold Remington.

One WHAT is different about the Dupont versions and how do I recognize one made by Dupont?

WTB, OLDER 870 Wingmasters

I am looking for two of the OLD style Wingmasters in 12 and 20. These are of the pre 60s ( I think) version with round, ribbed (corncob) forearms, no checkering on stock, no butt pad.
