Remington High Grades for sale

I am addicted to surfing the "for sale" gun sale sites. I am seeing a bunch of graded Remingtons listed, including some very gorgeous and rare "D" grades (GI-GB)! My beer budget only allows me to look but what a fun look it is! Plenty of "C & B" grades too!

Re: 1894 AER 28" & 30" set

The "combo" has only one fore end. There are no visible 1 or 2 on either barrel.
Thanks for the clarification Reseacher!

1894 AER 28" & 30" set

I recently acquired the noted Remington with two barrels, both numbered the same. Rick and I spent some time with the barrel gauge last night: Top barrel set is 28" right, .29 choke left cylinder (no choke) I appears that the factory numbers have been X-ed out Bottom barrel set is 30" righ...

Re: Joe Loy

Vendors of guns I have shopped have him noted as doing a gun in 1912. Maybe they back tracked his career? I would like to think that he did my 10-D or at least was the main artist.

Re: Nickel

Did Remington subcontract the color case processing? If so they might very well have sourced the nickel plating. With the competition for sales at the time it would seem likely that they would cater to the customers wishes.

Re: Whitmore Hammer Lifter re-stock

Paul, This gun was missing butt stock and trigger guard, I used an 1889 trigger guard. We had to alter an 89 stock and bondo for a copy. I had another grade 1 lifter years ago that was also with pistol grip. Also this gun is 10 gauge but is very light.

Whitmore Hammer Lifter re-stock

A three year project getting closer.
This 1873 Grade 3 need quite a bit of work.
The Arizona Black Walnut came from a stump that I picked up while hunting quail 25 years ago!
Replacement trigger guard engraved to match by Chuck Edwards.

2shooter,
So you have them! What an advanced collection you must have amassed.
Any photos of the graded guns would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for all the replies, Mike
