Barrel Date Question

I bought a mid-70's 410 that does not have a barrel date code. It is a Remington barrel, VR, full choke, that's about 26"s. The owner bought it new, but said he never changed the barrel, that's the way it came. Did any of these come without the barrel date code? I know the person, and I don't t...

Re: 870 12ga with a T prefix

The barrel dates to 1977, so it looks like it is probably the original barrel.
Thanks guys

Nylon 66 Rear sight Installation

Hi, I picked up a nice 1969 Nylon 66 that someone had removed the sights and installed a scope. I found a brand new rear sight, with rivit. It seems pretty straight forward on how to install it, but I was wondering if there are any pitfalls I should look out for when doing the job. Thanks for any ad...

Re: New to me 1903a3 Remington

They are great shooters, and lookers. :D I have a couple 03's, and a couple 03A3's. I shoot the 03A3's best, probably because of my old eyes and the peep sight. Woodstock is right, the 1917 is also a great shooter, and to me, the recoil is much less noticeable. It is hard to tell by the picture, but...

Re: Model 25 Help Needed

I have my magazine tube screw, but I just leave it out. I think it's a flimsy arrangement and all you need to do is keep the magazine tube screwed in. Just keep checking to make sure it is screwed in while you are shooting it. The other screw uses the same theory to hold together the magazine conne...

Re: Model 25 Help Needed

Hi, I tried the set screws from the hardware, they are a different thread. I had thought if they were right, I could grind the little tit on it, cut the screw off short and notch it for a screwdriver bit, But---------- I may have found a couple correct screws, I'm just waiting for the PO to de...

Model 25 Sight Question

Hi, My model 25 was made in 1928 in 25-20 caliber.
It has Marbles sights on it. Could anyone tell me what the original sights were on this rifle?
Thank you

Model 25 Help Needed

Hi, I just picked up a couple of Remington Pumps, a 12C, and a Model 25 in 25-20. On the 25, while taking it down for a good cleaning, I noticed the magazine tube was loose. After I took it apart, I found that it was missing the two magazine screws. (Apparantly someone forgot to install them when th...
