Model 14 Question
I had some pictures sent to me for a Model 14A in the 87xxx serial number range. I can not see a barrel date code on the barrel, it may be stamped too low to see. With this serial number, would it be made before, or after the date code was added? Thanks avery He sent me another pic of the left rear ...

Re: Model 10 Experts Needed
Well son of a gun, you guys hit it right on the head. The 2-3/4 shells feed and eject perfectly.
The old girl sure has a thump to it with that old hard butt plate though.
I re-measured the chamber, 2-9/16", maybe 2-1/2 was just TOO short.
Thank you kindly

Re: Model 10 Experts Needed
Hi, This gun is one of the first made model 10's, 1908-1910, it doesn't even have the model 10 marked on it, or the 12 ga marking.
It definitely has the short chamber.
I never removed the barrel bushing, it was a nice tight fit.
Thanks

Model 10 Experts Needed
I have a nice old 10 that has a problem. Everything works great, except when chambering a round, it apparantly doesn't line up with the barrel, and the bolt won't close. If I point the gun up, letting the round go to the rear of the chamber, it goes right in. I'm wondering if the leaf spring on the ...

Re: Early Model 10, I think
If it says Remington Arms Co., that is 1910 and earlier. Both the Remington Autoloading Gun and the Remington Repeating Gun were made for 2 3/4 inch 12-gauge shells right from their introduction. Researcher, I appreciate the info very much. However, the chamber definitely measures less than 2-3/4&q...

Re: Early Model 10, I think
There are no marks on the receiver other than the serial #. On the slide arm it is (trade REMINGTON mark). The barrel is Remington Arms Co. Ilion NY USA Patents Feby 1903, May 16 1905 That's it, other than Full on the left rear of the barrel, and the Remington mark in an oval on the right rear of th...

Early Model 10, I think
I bought this old Model 10 ???, it has no Model 10 designation on it, and no date code on the barrel. Serial number is 60xxx, so a pretty early one I'm guessing. All numbers match, right down to the wood. Would anyone hazard a guess to a manufacture date, I have searched the web to no avail. When di...

1954 Wingmaster ADL Question
Just a curiosity question. I picked up this 870 recently, it looks to have been shot very little. It is all that it is supposed to be, with one exception, it has a left hand safety. It looks to be original to the gun. It is not one of the later replacement types offered these days. Did Remington off...

Re: Remington model 58 Sportsman 12ga questions
I have the Sportsman 58 my father owned many years ago, and handed down to me. I take it shooting sporting clays every now and then. Still works great, although yours is in much better condition than mine. Dad was a bird hunter every minute he wasn't working, and the gun shows it. Enjoy it, it's a g...
