You say the primer hits look normal? If that's the case I would look to the ammo. Just because it's new ammo doesn't mean it's good. I've had new ammo in the past do the same thing.

That sure does help Will! that's EXACTLY the info I was looking for. But what about the bolt itself (the side that shows in the ejection port)? Is it rust blued or in the white (pollished)? Also what about the firing pin retaining pin head?

I have a 1918 "custom" mauser in 6mm rem. that has a stock with the exact same profile and the exact same fore end tip and grip cap, white spacer and all. It is a Fajen stock.

I have a 522 that I have put thousands of rounds through. It's a great little rifle. The takedown isn't as easy as some, but it will run for hundreds and hundreds of rounds without cleaning. When I have a bunch of kids on the line it really gets a workout. They just love it.
