Re: 7mm Roller

I don't suppose that you still have that rifle. If you have, look at the posts on the previous page in this thread. You will find useful information about preparing cases for loading.

Re: 7mm Roller

"The case life can also be much improved by not full length resizing it after firing in your Roller. Simply neck size it when reloading and it will give you a lot longer life" It is essential NOT to full legnthg size the case as you will then get the newer dimensions that lead to wrong he...

Re: ROLLING BLOCK BREECHBLOCK FACE

The flat breechblock was introduced for Remington manufactured rifles in about 1870. European made rifles, Swedish for instance, continued with concave breechblocks after this date.

I don't know the reason for the change but it does require one less engineering procedure.

Re: Banner Englishisms

You are absolutely correct. It should read... ' An Organization Dedicated to the study of Remington Firearms'.
Although being English I would spell 'Organization' with s rather than z.

Re: 7mm Roller

I regularly use a 1902 7mm Rolling Block rifle. At first I was put off by Georges Book. This is what I do. I only use handloads and I start by fire forming new cases by using low loads. Then I load using Hogdon's starting loads. I usually shoot this gun at 100, 200 and 300 yards and these loads work...

Re: New member and a what is it......

Many years ago (when it was still legal to shoot handguns here in the UK ) I had a Remington in .46 rim fire. I bought a hammer for a percussion replica and ground it down to make it centre fire. Using .44 special cases it worked well.

Re: This is a frustrating Board

The frustrating thing about this forum is that you don't always get an answer to your questions.

The good thing is that when you do they are informed answers unlike many forums that I subscribe to.

Re: 7MM RB Question

Mine is marked 'CAL 7MM' and is a 1902 with a 'Days' ejector and a 'Salvadorian Model 1902' hand guard. The only reference I can see in George Layman's excellent book on military Rolling Blocks that refers to calibre marking on 7mm rifles is, in the pages on the model 1896 is 'Calibre is marked on t...
