Re: Double Derringer Monobloc

Since this is late production, there should be a date code on the barrel locking lug.
My old eyes can't see if it shows in the photos.
If all original finish, it would be rare, but I can't tell from the photos.

I don't know how many Nylon collectors visit this site, but you might have better luck posting this
question on the Nylon site:

I'm not a gunsmith, but I have several 51's
I agree with Steven, since the barrel is pined to the frame, the problem must be with the breach block and/or the slide.

Re: BOOK ADVICE

Jim, The Richard A Bourne Auction Catalog of the Karl F Moldenhauer collection , October 29 1980, has hand drawn sketches, showing some differences between the Belt Model Single Action (SA) and the Rider Double Action (DA). You will also see listed 5 SA's and 10 DA's with descriptions it has been ou...

Re: Question just got a model 12

I would say you have a Model 12, that has had the barrel replaced with a Model 121. I have one like this. Look on the left side of the barrel near the receiver, there should be some code letters which will date the barrel. There might even be a "3", indicating it was done at the factory. M...

I guess this is good news for some people, but what the heck is it, what would
I do with it, and why would I want it?
Just verifying my lack of internet technology. :)

Re: Remington rolling block no. 2

The Remington catalog of 1902 lists the #2 Rolling Block as being available in various
rim fire and center fire calibers. It does show that it was available in C F 25-20, 25-21, & 25-25 Stevens. As well as 25-10 Stevens R F.
Sorry, I can't help with reloading information.

Re: Odd three letter barrel code?

tallen
I agree with researcher the "A" is an inspector mark and the date code is RP 11/67.
This is based on my 600A ERI SN 043xxV which is dated OP 7/67.
I hope this helps!

Re: Need help with Remington 1875

Texas Jack, While your 1875 is all original Remington, it is composed of two different issues. The frame with its high serial no. and round firing pin are from a later production. While the barrel with the pinched front sight is from the earlier production. My guess is the barrel, ejector, and cylin...

The new old R-51

A source, which I believe to be very reliable, has told me that Remington will be reintroducing the Model R-51
in the very near future. Maybe early in July. I'm told it will be much improved over their first release!

Watch for it.

Re: Remington 1871 Serials

Eskil According to the book Remington Rolling Block Pistols by Jerry Landskron, 1981(this is the Bible on these)! He states the first numbers on the left trigger and grip straps, are assembly numbers, and the second no. on the top strap is the Serial No. However, there are some exceptions. His book ...

Re: help with very rare Remington 3 barrel revolving rifle

Scot In all my years of collecting Remington's I've never seen any reference to rifles with more than double barrels. It is believed that Remington only made barrels for the trade, until the 1840's. There are a couple of double barrel percussion rifles known, but it is questionable if they were asse...

Re: R51 gone for good?

Dave, Like you I'm interested in the R51, to include it in my collection of original 51's. I haven't been able to get any new information from Remington, but I found this site which I think has the latest info. http://www.gunsholstersandgear.com/2015/09/18/more-delays-remington-r51/ We will just hav...
