Re: Yes, another 51 question by a new guy....

To remove the slide, you have to move it to the rear, then grasp the barrel and pull the barrel and slide forward.
I hope this helps.

Re: Log-in issues?

I can't help with a fix.
Just wanted to say I had the same problem a week or so ago. After re-signing in things have been OK.
Are you still having trouble? If so, I guess admin will have to address the problem.

Re: R51

Here is what Remington replied when I inquired September 8th. We appreciate your patience as we continue our efforts to re-launch the R51. Currently we don’t have a timeframe for the re-introduction but our Huntsville R&D center is working to have it back on the market as soon as possible. Thank...

Re: Remington Rolling Block No. 1 Sporter help

Here is a copy of a post that I placed in the pre-1899 section, under topic "Activity, or the lack thereof". If I started a new post there might have been a reply. I have a question regarding a sporting Rolling Block. A friend of mine just purchased an unusual one from Rock Island Auction....

An unusual Rolling Block

First a comment about the lack of activity. speaking just for myself. While I read all of the posts, in most cases the inquirer has more knowledge of the subject than I could add. With that said, I have a question regarding a sporting Rolling Block. A friend of mine just purchased an unusual one fro...

Re: remington 725

My 1958 M-725, has what I would call a molded Bakelite grip cap. It could be seen as hard rubber.
It isn't shiny like the ones on the 870 shotguns. I hope this helps.

Re: Remington 1891 & 1901 Target Rolling Block Pistols

Without seeing a photo, I believe this is an 1891 target, I base this on the fact that the rear sight is on the barrel. The 1901 had the sight on the receiver. Also the breach block on the 1901 has the thumb piece off set to the right, The checkered grips could be from the 1901, or done later. Remin...

RonB,
In order to provide information on your Rolling Block, we would need information on markings & features.
Photos would be the most help.

Re: Question about a O/U Derringer monobloc of 1934 ?

Yes, there is a Nickel Mono Block S.N. 76188 with date code XE 12/36.
I didn't think this would help with the date range for 1934, that wildwest is looking for.
So I didn't mention it.

Re: Question about a O/U Derringer monobloc of 1934 ?

wildwest I can't give you the last number for 1934. but I can give you some numbers which might be confusing. Rem-UMC O/U's #75603 dated BD 1/35 it is Ribbed, then there is #75707 dated BE 1/36 this is a Monoblock. We know serial numbers didn't always coincide with the date codes. That's all I can a...

Re: 1894's - Relative rarity of non 12 gauge models

Canvasback, As deNusse1 says, even if the records are lost, we have the guns for reference. Maybe someone should start a survey, like the 721-722-725 in the rifle section. It wouldn't be very scientific, but would give an idea of the survival rate. It's just a thought. I can start with a 1900 KED 16...

Re: Nylon 66 stock

I have a Nylon 66 that has a very rusty receiver cover (early model with no serial no). When I tried to purchase a new one from Remington, I was told that it is considered the receiver, and a newer one would have to be transferred through an FFL, and recorded just like a complete rifle. Needless to ...

Re: Help ID Oddball 58

wmterry, I also have one of these oddball 58's. It's my opinion that these were made up from left over parts, after the 1100 was introduced. Mine has the same frame as yours, except the left side of my receiver only has Remington, not S-58. The serial No. on mine is where it is on yours, but it is 5...

Re: Re:Reminton Arms Company Inc "25 Years Loyal Service" Ri

Joejeweler, I would agree that these rings are some what rare. I have one, which is probably a ladies ring, since it is 1/2" across the top and size 8. Over the years I have seen 4 or 5 advertised for sale. I think only an employee of Remington can answer the question, as to when they started a...
