I guess we want the pre '98 S/N which would be 80389 for the last one produced in 1897.

Re: 1882 SXS? + Parts for another 1882-1885?
Although I'm not an expert, it appears that your SxS is a model 1889 based on the hammer shape. I might be interested - shoot a price to jmeier356@gmail.com As far as an FFL - these were made from 1889 to 1910 so I don't know what the law requires. Maybe it is based on S/N. The magic S/N is 89123 as...

Re: 1894 case and Hawkins Recoilpad
The '94s have butt plates with a Neider point. So, if that feature was removed when installing the Hawkins it would be best to sell as is.

Re: Remington 1900 with floating firing pins
Glad you enjoy your 1900. Snap caps are always best. Your 1900 can be put away uncocked by the following. Before closing the EMPTY gun, depress both triggers and then close. Barrel finish
Quick question. Were barrels rust blued throughout SxS production including lifter models or were some of the earlier models browned? I have a lead on a '78 or '79 which I understand needs some serious TLC. Reason I'm asking is that I'm using Oscar Gaddys' blueing technique. Worked great when I refi...

1900 extra part?
I have a 1910 production 1900 KED 12 ga. (Q383xxx) that appears to have an extra part. The other item of note is that it is has the narrow action body (~ 1.5+" across the water table which is ~1/8" narrower than my other 1900s & 1894s). The part fits on the hammer pivot pin between the...

Black vs Smokeless
As a new member I tried make my first post earlier but it appears it didn't go through so I'll try again. After buying my first 1900 in the late '60s or early '70s I discovered it was damascus! Crap!! Surprise!! Ouch! Great! But as it turned out this was my introduction to BP shooting. Since then I'...
