Re: Wave washer dimensions

"Perfectly smooth, don’t understand prior reference about “teeth”."

You sir got a genuine wave washer. If you look around a bit you will see what I am talking about.

Re: Wave washer dimensions

What most people call a wave washer these days is not. They have sharp teeth to allow them to bite into the metal surfaces, not unlike a lockwasher. I much prefer an O ring, as it does nor mar the metal.

Re: 870 Age Question

The serial number correlates to 68 to 74 manufacture. The barrel code is meaningless, as you noted it does not match with anything charted. I would guess 1968 based on serial number. Not having a valid, or indeed any, date code is not unusual. I have three Remington barrels with no date code. I did ...

Re: Model 1100 28ga

I'd guess March 1976 or 1988 for the barrel. A look at the checkering pattern should nail down the gun date range.

Re: 3 letter stamp on 870 Wingmaster

Last letter is an assembly code.
P= June H= 1961 or 1987. A pic could quickly answer that.

Re: The Remington 11-87 Discontinued?

Yes. The new owners of Remington Firearms have not yet announced much specifically about what model guns they intend to resume manufacture of, and/or when. I believe we will see new 1100s and 11-87s in the future.

In house assembly tools drawings.
In house project numbers for not yet released models are often different from the final one.

Re: Long Range Model 11 (2 shot?)

The 2-3/4" "Long Range" barrels were intended to counter the Winchester 3" offering loadings as Remington didn't have a 3" chambered gun..... yet.

Re: Remington 1100

Someone may have tinkered with it. Normally a 12 gauge barrel will fit in the standard sized 20 gauge receiver, but the extractor will not fit in the recess. The smaller bolt would not handle 12 gauge cases, and the feed latch would not feed 12 gauge shells from the magazine. I have seen 12s convert...

Re: Model 1100 starting serial number

Nothing is absolute when it comes to Remington rollmarking. I have seen two (2) Model 1100s with completely bare receivers. No scroll, no serial numbers, nothing. The woodwork was typical 1963 vintage. Only Remingtons I ever saw with no serial numbers.

It should be a 20 gauge on the 12 gauge size receiver.

Problem is back then you could order practically anything "special order" for a pittance.
