This is a Remington #1 Rolling Block, made from 1870-1890's. It is either #1 or #2. See Fladerman's guide to Antique American Firearms (5E-094 & 5E094.5)

Model 30 Rifle

Chris, What you have is a model 30-A. This is the first model introduced in 1921. The Remington receiver sight was standard when introduced, and only used for a few years. The Model 30 Express was introduced in 1926 and had a buckhorn type sight on the barrel. The Model 30-S was not introduced until...

Model 51 production

For all you Model 51 owners, Remington started production of the Model 51 in 1919 with the .380 cal. Since it was the only caliber, there was no need to mark the barrel or clip. When they started production of the .32 (in 1921) they had to identify each. The caliber markings started to appear at S.N...

Model 610

mrgee, Are you sure this is .22 cal. ? According to Roy Marcot in Remington "America's Oldest Gunmaker". The 610 was an experimental bolt action based on the 500 series of 22's. However, it was produced in a new .267 R.F. cartridge to compete with the .22W.R.F. He states that only 63 were ...

Caleb,
If it is in the original box, there should be information on the end label to help identify it. Remington made several DU guns for fund raising and sale to the public. More detailed information is necessary.

Remington 30-06

Greg,
Based on the information you have given, I would say you have a Remington manufactured 1903 or 1903 A3 Springfield which has been sporterized. This is The only high powered Remington with the safety on the bolt that I know of. A picture would answer the question.

Model 812

The Remington Model 812 was manufactured by Companhia Brasileira Cartuchos (CBC) in Brazil. Remington owned an intrest in this company until taken over by the government in the 1970's. This shotgun was not sold in the USA, it was made for foreign sales. However, it was sold in Canada by Canadian Ind...

44 Rem.

Randall, What you have is a Model 14 1/2. This is the pistol cartridge version of the Model 14. It was made in 38-40 and 44-40. Depending on the length of the barrel it is either a rifle or carbine. I don't have serial number information handy, but it might have a date code on the left side of the b...

Moddel 612

The 600 series of rifles are very similar to the 500 series. However, they were an experimental rimfire in .267 caliber. Remington was experimenting with this cartridge in the early 1940's. I don't know why it was never put into production. I know some 610 and 611 rifles were produced for testing, b...
