Re: Whitmore Hammer Lifter re-stock

Remington did not offer pistol grip stock for Model 1873 in 1875 catalog.I have not seen a 1873 with original pistol grip stock.Remington listed the pistol grip stock in the 1877 Remington catalog for Model 1875 listed pistol grip stock $5.00 to $8.00 dollars extra.

Re: Whitmore Hammer Lifter re-stock

The Hammer Lifter you have serial #72 is a early gun. The marks the gun has give it character don"t take it away refinishing it leave it be. Shoot it and have fun.

Re: 1894 ejector takedown?

First does the ejector work ? If so leave it alone you can clean the forend and ejector sear with tooth brush. You take it apart be careful and putting it back together.

The Damascus barrels are suppose to be brown the receiver, locks and forend iron color case.If it is that nice I would leave it be.To me its worth more like it is be careful on you cleaning. Do not use sand paper. Do not refinish the wood.
