I have heard this term used in regard to Shotguns, but not rifles.
If memory serves me right, I think in reference to Model 31's.
I however, have never seen one, so can't say just how they were marked.

New Forum for Remington stuff
Hello to all, Since I am the one to request the Administrators to add this Forum It's appropriate for me to make the first post. I thought we needed a Forum to share comments, stories, & news of general Remington interest. My immediate purpose is to let the members and interested people know tha...

Re: Pewter casting by Bergamot of 1982 Duke Poster "No time
First let me say I'm not a serious knife collector. I am a member of the RCCC, http://www.remingtoncutlery.com/, and I do have quite a few. I think it's just supply and demand. Remington and Smoky have been cranking out large quantites and many variations. Different blade and haft materials. I think...

whyrob,
If my memory is correct, I believe they made a belt buckle like this, but only about 2"x3". I've never seen one this size.
Thanks for posting the photo.

whyrob,
Yes I would like to see a photo, I'm sure there are others who would like to see it also.
I'm not sure just what it is so can't say I've seen one!

Re: Need more info about this REmington .30-06 rifle, please
Sabith, I believe you have a first Model 30A, The low SN would indicate first year production. The 1st. Model (1921) had a Remington receiver site dove tailed into the reciever bridge. They are impossible to find, so a Marble-goss might have been added later. We do know the butt stock has been cut t...

Re: My new to me 722 in 257 Roberts
Butch,
If my old eyes are seeing correctly, I think that's a Packmeyer (sp)? swing over mount.
My dad had one on a sporterized Enfield '06. Which happened to be a Remington.

Re: info wanted " game name game" poster 1923
I would like to add that this poster was reproduced on a 1988 calendar. The dates of 1904
were the same as 1988. the repro. was 14" X 27". and If my information is correct the original was 17" X 25".

Re: Researching history on a Remington Model 1858 New Model Army
GLOLIVER, If I remember correctly, it has been suggested that the "CA" stands for cartridge alteration. See Jay Huber's reply to a previous inquiry. http://www.remingtonsociety.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3884&p=11823&hilit=conversion+46#p11823 I also believe this was covere...

Re: 1960's Remington Trap Guns
jjd, You are correct, that Remington produced the Model 870-SX (skeet), TX (trap), and ASX (field). They had what Remington called "Sun-Grain" wood. Roy Marcot in the book Remington " America's Oldest Gunmaker", states it was introduced in 1959. Other sources indicate '59-'61. I ...

I guess I better make an appointment with an optician. On closer examination, I agree that the serial # is engraved. The old eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be.

rootmanslim
The fact that the serial # is stamped rather than engraved, indicates that this wasn't
engraved before leaving Remington. I agree, the stock doesn't look like Remingtons'
either.

Re: Anniversary Editions
ljd1100 In my opinion, the value of limited or special editions is dependent on quantity produced, type of embellishment, and condition. It also depends on the Model (rifle or shotgun) and commemoration. There are collectors for just about any thing out there, but I believe interest in "instant...
