Re: strange rem 511p scoremaster pick up today questions?

murdoc rose,
The M-511 & 511P were clip fed 22's. It's my opinion a 511P barrel has been put on a M-510 single shot receiver. Thus, no drill or tap for the peep sight.
leadchucker is right the barrel is threaded for a silencer.

Re: Model 12 Gallery Special 3 questions, sn#, jams, tr spr

The SN's on all that I've seen, are on the left side of the trigger group, when holding in firing position. The side plate is covered by the receiver when assembled. Of course I don't have one with that low a SN, maybe the early ones are different. That's all I the information can offer.

Re: Model 12 Gallery Special 3 questions, sn#, jams, tr spr

pearsall I looked at my M-12 SN 86xxx and the carrier is some what different, but I'm sure it works the same. The dog engages the slot in the carrier during the ejection pump, then lifts it on the forward pump. I can't tell from the photo, but does the angle on the cartridge stop extend up into the ...

Re: Model 4 & 6 Rollimg block ammunition

Gerry, The Remington Model 4 and 6 you are familar with, are the early Rolling Blocks. Actually a Falling Block for the #6. To the best of my knowledge these were only available in rimfire. However, Remington produced 2 centerfire rifles from 1981-1987. The semi-auto was a "Model Four" and...

admin,
You've seen my office! I know where the past Journals are, but it would probably take 1/2 an hour to dig them out. Since I didn't plan on doing that, I didn't check which issue it was. :)

Re: Remington 514 on swivel base

I think Billy & John have correctly identified your M-514. If so, the front site probably goes through the barrel and the bolt is locked so it can't fire. The rifle didn't actually shoot cartridges. There were wires that were connected to the trigger, which closed a circuit. Here is a link to eb...

Re: remington 812

cecil65 The M-812 was made by CBC in Brazil. In the '60's Remington had an investment in the company. The 812 was for distribution outside the U.S., but this shotgun was imported by several other companies, under other names. I think this is a link to what you're looking for. http://babelfish.yahoo....

Re: new to RSA W/? Remington Air Rifle

I would like to add to what remington660 posted. When introduced in 1928 the Remington air rifle (BB gun) was called the Model 26. Remington made it like their other rifles, with blued metal parts. However, it sold for 50 cents more than the Daisy. At some point in time they changed the finish to bl...

Re: Sportsman 58 Magnum - model variation 58-TX or 58-SX?

Doug, I'm sure your M-58 is a Sun-Grain "X" Model, but I have never seen a reference to it being available in a field grade. Since the Trap & Skeet shooters use target load shot shells, I don't think a magnum would be offered in a TX or SX. Either the wood has been replaced or it was a...

Re: 550-1 recoiling chamber is loose in the barrel? Info rep

fixitman, I'm not a gunsmith, and don't know what holds the floating chamber in the barrel. However, I do know if you fasten it in the barrel you will only be able to shoot long rifle cartridges. The floating chamber holds a short cartridge and recoils with it, thus increasing pressure on the bolt, ...

Frankie, First let me say the shotgun is at another location, so I don't have it in hand. However, my receiver is the same as yours. (markings and relief cut). I don't remember if the top is matted, the 878 barrel (marked on magazine ring), is plain (no rib). The grip cap is the same as yours. (It m...

Re: What the heck is this? Plain Reciever Model 58 3 digit S

Frankie, I believe we have a "clean-up" shotgun. I say we because I have #208. It's a fact that Remington has sold modified firearms to chain or hardware stores. Montgomery Wards for instance. It is my opinion that these were left over parts from the Model 58 as well as the M-878, when the...

Re: Scoremaster 511-P

FLbear77 The code ATT dates this as March 1948. The star is an inspectors mark. Finding a clip or magazine shouldn't be a problem since all of the ones for the 500 series 22's will fit (511, 513, 521, & 541). I can't help on the sight aperture/screw. Try the parts listing on this site, or check ...
