Re: 11-87 Trigger Group

The trigger group is out of the gun. I can't see anything that apears to be broken, but I'm not an expert of 11-87 trigger groups.

11-87 Trigger Group

Am trying to reasssemble my grandson's 11-87 L/H, (I got it back in a bag of parts) and have come up with a problem I haven't encountered before. The silver release pad that releases the tongue which allos you to insert a second shell in the magazine tube is jammed. I can't get the tongue to release...

Re: 11-87 Function

I always shot my 1100's dry on the magazine tube. Always seemed to me that any lube acted as a collector for the carbon in the gas, and after a short time the lube/carbon mixture became corrosive gunk

Re: 11-87 Function

OK. The rest of the story. Had the gun cleaned and tuned by a Remington 'smith. After 150 shells, the gun would not cycle. Tearing the gun down, the magazine tube is gummed up in various locations along the tube - clean, then gummy, clean then gummy. The gummy sections are inhibiting the cycling. Sh...

11-87 Function

I've owned and shot 1100's for years, and when I found a left-handed 11-87 for my wrong-armed grandson, I jumped at it. Gun probably hadn't had a box of shells thru it. He's now put a thousand or 2 thousand target loads through it, and keeps it scrupulously clean. The gun is now failing to eject vir...

Re: 1100 .410 circa 1970's ??

If you're going to shoot 2 1/2" shells ONLY, would it be possible to open up the gas port a bit?

Re: M3200 Provenance

Not that it matters, but do you know if those barrels are numbered to the gun? (mine are)

M3200 Provenance

Back in the late 1960's until the sale of Remington to DuPont, my Dad was a Director for Remington. During that time, he ordered a 3200 with two sets of barrels - both 28". F/M and Sk/Sk. The story my Dad relayed was that this gun ended up as the prototype gun for the multiple barrels skeet set...

Re: 3200 primier

The engraving appears to be similar to the engraving on my 1 of 1000's. Looks like roll engraving - not hand done in Belgium. Nevertheless, it's an attractive gun. I own 3 of 'em, and love 'em.

Re: Model 870 "Matched Pair"

They should be Skeet choked, and should have a set of screw-on weight caps which fit on the end of the magazine tube. I think the receivers should have some gold washed engraving. Neat gun set.

11-87 Gas Cylinder Collar

Have owned a number of 1100's but the 1187 I got for my grandson is the first one of those I have owned. How is the gas cylinder collar supposed to be installed? Can it/should it be glued or staked into the forearm? I don't like the way this one seems to float around on assembly/diassembly. Thanks i...

Re: Rem Model 11 Mfg Dates???

K - I would not spend the money to reblue the guns. They are not collectable, and any money spent will most likely not be reflected in increased value should you sell them. Keep them as your family passed them to you. There are a lot of memories in those shiney blue parts - I know, I still shoot my ...

Do the guns have a dimple in the serial number? That indicates that the gun has the upgrades

I got a replacement stock for my M31 from SARCO years ago - also wrapped in newspaper of the time. My stock had no reddish tones in it

Re: Engraved 870 Help needed

Appears to be an aftermarket job to me. I've never seen that pattern from the factory. The wood looks to be standard, so it's very unlikely to be a premium factory gun, IMHO
