Re: No 1 (50-70) with No Remington Address or Patent Date?
Hello John, The photo’s of the other two rifles, were on the web some years ago, from different antique gun dealers. I don’t remember if they showed any photo’s of rack numbers or mention of any rack numbers in their descriptions on the rifles. Wish now that I would of saved photo’s of them on my c...

Hello John Boy, Here are some photo's of a gun in my collection, it is the same type as yours. The gun is in mint condition, with very good case coloring on the receiver and bluing on the barrel. The rack number on the butt stock is 125. The forearm has no barrel band spring for the middle barel ban...

Re: No 1 (50-70) with No Remington Address or Patent Date?
Hello John Boy, Have a question for you. The full lenght photo you have is not to clear, does the forearm have a barrel band spring at the middle barrel band. Also does the rifle have a slide extractor that is fitted in a milled slot along the left side of the barrel at the breech or a rotary type e...

Re: Beach combination front sight
Hello Jim, Have not been able to shoot the rifle yet. Thanks for the offer of some bullets, but I have some cast bullets that I bought years ago for my .43 Egyptian rifle that are 0.446 in diameter and they fall right down through the bore of the gun. The bore seems to be about 0.450 or 0.451. Just ...

Re: RB #1 Sporter ....No Tang Markings? Please Advise
Hello Yellowhouse,
If you are looking for brass, you should try Buffalo Arms.
They have 43 Spanish cases 20($41.00) and 44-77 SBN cases 20($42.00).
Just got some 44-90 SBN cases from them and they were made from .348 Winchester cases.
Best of luck in getting the gun shooting.
Have a good day,
Matt

Re: RB #1 Sporter ....No Tang Markings? Please Advise
Sounds like you have a very nice sporting model. I think the very early ones were marked on the tang, most of the ones that I have seen were marked on the left side of the Receiver. I have one Sporting Model, full octagen barrel in 32 long rimfire and a Creedmoor musket in 44-90 or 45-100 special an...

Re: Beach combination front sight
Jim, Remington did stamp a serial number on the bottom of the barrel near the receiver. That serial number is also stamped on the forearm, butt stock and on the back side of the butt plate. There is no stamping on the barrel as to what caliber that it was chambered for. I know on the sporting models...
