Re: Model 1100 - 1187 - 870 sear springs

If you're reading this... you have probably done the same thing I did... and been unhappy with the results. I have tried every spring offered by major suppliers Midw- MG- Brown- and on and on. Every one says they have a light pull spring. Most are only a pound or two lighter than the HEAVY 7lb facto...

Re: Remington Mohawk 600

Remington used a bowling ball finish that isn't available commercially. Dupont RKW was the trade name used. It was tested on the rooftop of the factory where stocks were exposed to the summer and winter temperatures. Tough stuff with a nice semi gloss look. I would suggest a "bar top" fini...

Re: Model 1100 - 1187 - 870 sear springs

Here's a couple photos that may help show what I am looking for... Comes with Red (4lb), White (3lb) and Blue (2lb) sear spring in order to obtain the perfect pull weight for your particular application. Trigger Spring Kit is constructed of the highest quality spring steel available, ASTM A228 music...

Re: Model 1100 - 1187 - 870 sear springs

I had the same exact feeling... no real improvement with the competition trap spring. However the two lighter springs that come with the Timney sear kit work nicely... The dimensions I put up are the light spring. I have a "Fleet" of 1100 series guns and want to put light springs in all of...

Model 1100 - 1187 - 870 sear springs

I found the spring design I wanted, and had several hundred manufactured. I am selling these to shooters that want a 2lb trigger pull in their Remington Shotgun or Rifle. Yes these are interchangeable with many of the Remington firearms sharing the same basic trigger group design. Please check out m...

Model 11

To improve my collection I continue to shop... found a nice one this week, and bought it. Seems in great condition for an one that has been used.

No Ugly Polywog on the barrel either.

Re: Model 11- post cleaning ?

The following post says what I needed to hear.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAXUNqNJdxg Apparently the shotgun is performing normally... when shells are loaded into the magazine the latch holds them at the end of the magazine tube. If cycling begins... shells are held out further... as a normal ...

Model 11- post cleaning ?

My recently acquired model 11 had not been cleaned for some time. After a cleanup of the magazine tube, and lube of the spring & friction pieces I shot it... shot nicely. So I took it apart (mostly) and scrubbed it with a tooth brush and "Powder Blast" & WD-40 to get down to bare m...

Re: model 11 20ga mfg date & choke

I've looked for a better description of that choke... you found it! Outstanding. Well I couldn't stand the dirt and muck in the action... finally decided to spend the time and solvent and get it cleaned up. So disassembly was yesterday... reassembled today... just in time to shoot a round of skeet w...

model 11 20ga mfg date & choke

Just bought this beauty and it's not really old, so has nice bluing. Model 11 serial 1,056,804. It's got a Poly Choke Ugh! and I'm thinking about removing it and having Carlson's install a screw in choke system. I shoot skeet mostly so would get a cyl, skeet, & imp-cyl chokes. Pictures include a...

Re: An 1100 that looks like this

The Remington 1187 Premier models (early) came with the embellished receiver. I had one, but gave it to my daughter to sell in her Pawn Shop. I picked it up because it was really dirty and had some pre-rust starting. I was able to restore most of it's looks, and after a thorough cleaning using a too...

Strange Forend Crack in 1100G3

Recently purchased an 1100G3 which came to me with a badly cracked forend. I notified the sending party, and they adjusted the price. However the mystery of how such a crack could occur in a shotgun that showed very little use was intriguing. Upon inspection the gas system showed near new parts with...

Re: 1100 G3 with wrong barrel.

Found another gun to take parts from. This one needs a new forend. Must be the G3 forend due to matching checkering and looks. In the meantime I'll fix the crack. What is a good price for a G3 12ga with a 28" Rem Choke Barrel that has had the forcing cone reamed and polished. Comes with a Skeet...
