As I recall the M-25 butt stock is closer to the M-12 then the M-14/141.
I no longer have a M-25 to check the size.

Re: Possibly the First Remington Model 51?
hipwer223 Donald M. Simmons published an article on "Remington Model 51 Prototypes" in the May/June issue of Man at Arms. While the ejector magazine is a feature of the prototypes,it could be exchanged, and thus not a guarantee of a prototype. While there were several differences from the ...

Re: Remington Posters
I assume you are talking about the set with a hunter-1912, wolves-1909, bear-1907, and quale-1917. This set was advertised in a 1978 Remington catalog. If they were made over a 4 year period, there probably were several printings, which could explain the variation in the color and paper. This is my ...

1100 versus 11-87
I have a friend looking to buy a Remington auto-loading shotgun. He asked me which is better the M-1100 or M-11-87, or what is the difference between them. Being a collector not a shooter, I couldn't answer him. I assume parts are readily available for both. Will 11-87 barrels interchange with the 1...

Re: Colt 1914 Government Model .45 ACP British/Canadian shipped to Remington/UMCMarkings
Every thing stated is very interesting, but doesn't explain why it was first sent to Remington-UMC before it's
world travels. Might I suggest that it was sent to UMC for cartridge development and function.
Then forwarded to either Colt or directly to Canada, Just my guess?

Re: Remington "American Browning"
Researcher,
I know the "2" stamp is for a replacement Barrel and assumed it was done by Remington. Your explanation
makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.

Re: Remington "American Browning"
I don't know if this will be helpful, but I have an American "Browning 3 shot" (marked on the fore end). It's a 20 ga. S N - C8693. However, it has a Remington vent rib barrel. It is date coded DMM-2= 8/43, which indicates it is a factory replacement. So not much help in dating it. It also...

Ward's Collectables just had an auction that included over 150 Remington 22 boxes and tins.

Re: Old 700 Carbine?
I have never seen or heared of a 700 with an 18 " barrel, other than yours.
The Blue Book lists 700 Carbines as being made with 20" barrels in 1962 & '63.
I would say it's a custom barrel, done by Remington or someone else.
Are there more than one set of date codes on the barrel?

Tom,
It's a very nice piece of wood. Are there any markings on the Butt plate or Grip cap?

Re: Remington Mod.11 question
I agree with Researcher. It's probably a training shotgun. If it was a combat shotgun it would have a shorter barrel. Is the barrel serial numbered to the receiver?

Re: Ken Blauch has died!
While I never met Ken in person, I talked to him several times on the phone. He was always willing to share his vast knowledge of Remington CF Pump rifles. I have to say The Society has lost a valuable resource.
My condolences to his family and friends. RIP Ken!

Re: #2 rolling Case help ID.
I can't help identify the case. My best guess is, it's custom made, and could have been done by anybody with wood working experience.
